My Journey to Classical Pilates

Transform your body with TruForm Pilates Pilates

Like many people, Gretchen came to Pilates after experiencing an injury that revealed how limited and disconnected movement can become when the body isn’t functioning as a whole. That experience sparked a deeper awareness of physical wellness and a desire to help others move and feel better in their bodies.

Her journey began with a growing appreciation for movement and the realization that exercise alone doesn’t always create balanced, sustainable strength. Strength without control, flexibility without stability, and activity without proper alignment can often lead to discomfort, frustration, or re-injury.

When Gretchen discovered Classical Pilates, she found a system that brings the body back into balance. The method develops strength, mobility, coordination, balance, breath, and body awareness all at once—creating a more integrated and intelligent way of moving.

What began as rehabilitation and personal practice gradually evolved into a professional calling.

Today, she has the privilege of helping clients throughout Scottsdale improve how they move, feel, and function through authentic Classical Pilates instruction.

Why I Choose Classical Pilates

Teaching the Original Method

There are many styles of Pilates available today.

While contemporary approaches can vary widely, I chose to dedicate my career to Classical Pilates because it remains true to the original system developed by Joseph Pilates.

The Classical Pilates method follows a carefully designed progression that develops the body intelligently over time. Each exercise builds upon the next, creating strength, flexibility, control, and efficiency throughout the entire body.

I believe this system continues to be one of the most effective approaches available for improving movement quality and supporting lifelong health.

At TruForm Pilates Scottsdale, every client benefits from this proven methodology.

My Teaching Philosophy

Personalized Instruction. Lasting Results.

No two bodies move exactly alike.

One of the reasons I love teaching Pilates is that every client presents a unique opportunity to help someone move more effectively and confidently.

My approach emphasizes:

  • Precision over repetition
  • Quality over intensity
  • Progression over perfection
  • Long-term results over quick fixes

Whether you're completely new to Pilates or have years of experience, my goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your body and build sustainable strength for life.
